Little Blue World Online Tori on Tour

The curtain rose and Tori was already standing onstage like a dancer ready to perform. She walked to her Bosendorfer and her hands started dancing on the keyboard, creating a flourish of sound... "Sweet the Sting" was the most dramatic transformation. On the album it's overproduced and trying to be too hip. But live the song is gutsier, sexier, bluesier, and yet livelier.

Feature articles:

Reading the Stars for Tori by 'Drew Wright

When the LBW staff said we could contact Tori's family, I had one question to pass on: what was the exact time she was born? I'd read some conflicting reports of it, and I wanted to see her real chart for myself. Why is the time important? Once you go beyond the newspaper horoscope/"what's your sign" basics of astrology, the correct time becomes more significant, and a few minutes' error can re-align the entire chart."

Wine 101 by Angela Bacon Reid

Wine is often perceived as a complicated, mysterious and headache-inducing subject...Mark Oldman has written a book designed to make wine buying and drinking an enjoyable and stress-free activity. Throughout the book there are quotes and recommendations by celebrity wine drinkers, including Tori.

The Tori Amos Songbook Buyer's Guide, Part 2 by Lydia Simon

David Pearl's arrangements are somewhat less pedestrian than those in the earlier songbook and require a bit more skill and attention from the musician. Highly skilled pianists still will not find their abilities taxed, but that degree of challenge is not to be expected in a publication intended for a mass audience.

Tori Story:

This Heart in the Middle by Joann M. Thebault

The sudden realization that I was going to meet Tori was overwhelming. I knew I couldn't possibly convey adequately how much she meant to me. I think I managed to get out, "You've been a blessing" through my now copious tears. The next thing I knew, I was staring at the ground over her shoulder. I dimly realized she was hugging me: wow.

Buy this from Amazon! Reviews: Heaps 'n Bops by John Higdon

The Ditty Bops are Amanda Barrett and Abby DeWald, a whimsical LA-based duo who, with the help of a cadre of fine session musicians, put out their self-titled debut just last year. The Bops is one of those bands that's difficult to categorize because the music spans categories, with pop, folk, bluegrass, blues, jazz, and even ragtime all seemingly intertwined.

Imogen Heap was barely into her 20's when her solo first album, I Megaphone, was released in 1998. Though a classically trained pianist, Immi chose a path influenced more by Nine Inch Nails and Bjork than Bach.

Peeping at Tom: by Liz Garlinge

One of my favorite moments ever from seeing Tom play live was his introduction to one of his songs--he introduced it by saying that he was trying to write a romantic love song, but it ended up being about the end of the world. It's that world view that sets him apart from much of the current crop of singer-songwriters--his lyrics pack a punch.

Wearing Her Tattoo by Laurie Ellis

I have other tattoos, but this one is special to me. I may not know Tori personally, but I can't disregard her impact on me. She has been a big part in my life. Listening to her has helped me understand myself.
